Keys to Leadership

Question: What is Keys to Leadership?

Answer: A leadership conference for troops of girls, grades 6-12 (Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors) which offers Girls Scouts of the USA (GSUSA) leadership courses including Program Aide and Leader-in-Training as well as a variety of enrichment opportunities. Learning and limited enrichment courses are also offered to troop advisors who attend this event.

Girls who attend will receive the appropriate GSUSA award (pin), the Keys to Leadership patch and either blue (Cadette) or yellow (Senior) keys for each leadership course they attend.

Once girls have received the “Keys” patch, they can earn additional keys for:
Leadership courses they complete either within Girl Scouts or the General Community.
Holding an officer’s position in a school, church club, or community organization is also accepted.

Girls complete USAGSO-NA form 5105, Keys to Leadership Application Form, and submit it to their troop leader for approval.

Keys to Leadership 2009 is scheduled for Friday September 18th – Sunday September 20th.
